Intimidated by wine? We can help! Whether you always opt for the same bottle at the supermarket—or simply steer clear and stick to cocktails instead—join us for Wine 101 to learn how to explain which wines you enjoy and how to select bottles that fit your budget and your taste. During the one-hour event, you’ll sample three wines while enjoying delicious snacks from the Vino 209 kitchen. Attendees will also receive a 10% discount off all wine bottle, wine by the glass and food purchases on the day of the class.

The first of 3 classes, All About Red Wine,  that will be led from Karla Walsh, Level One Sommelier.   You will taste 3 different wine varieties and learn about basic food/wine paring.  Plus, you’ll receive 10% discount on all additional food and wines purchased.  The cost of the class is $30.00, but you can save $15.00 if you purchase all three classes at one for just $75.00.

About the host: By day, Karla Walsh is an associate digital food editor at Better Homes and Gardens, where she creates videos and writes about delicious recipes and food trends. By night, she’s a magazine freelance writer, group fitness instructor, recipe tinkerer, Nicole Curtis wannabe, and sparkle addict. She is also the former Datebook Diner restaurant reviewer for the Des Moines Register. In 2015, Karla took her wine interest to the next level, literally, by passing the level one sommelier exam with the Court of Master Sommeliers.
